The Blood Drive is still on October 13th-October 16th at St. John's Mercy and now’s the time to make appointments!

Please see the attachment for details as to where and when. (Coming soon!)

NOTE we can make appointments up until 6:30 pm M-Thursday but they will not take walk-ins after 5pm. This is a great way to give LIFE to your own community as all the blood donated at St. Johns Mercy stays right here in our Mercy system; it is not shipped out of the area. You will receive a t-shirt, it says "one life changed...donate blood") and if you fill out a raffle ticket on site, you will be entered into our SLDA drawing for a spooky reward come Thursday the 16th!

Public Policy Workshop scholarships

Interested in Attending ADA's 2009 Public Policy Workshop? SLDA and MDA want to help you get there.

Don't miss this opportunity!! Dietetic professionals from around the nation will be gathering in Washington D.C. for one of the most empowering workshops offered by a professional organization – the ADA's Public Policy Workshop. The 2009 Public Policy Workshop will be held February 8-10th.

There are two $1,000.00 scholarships to apply for:

If you are a dietetic professional ($1,000.00 from MDA):

1. Please let Nikki Caito know you are interested.
2. Fill out the application. (Applications were emailed in the October 5th e-blast)
3. Email your application to brandy.adelsberger@sbcglobal.net no later than October 17, 2008. The winner will be announced in November.

If you are a dietetic intern ($1,000.00 from SLDA):

1. Please let your internship director know you are interested.
2. Fill out the application. (A copy of the application was send out in the Oct 5th e-blast)
3. Email your application to brandy.adelsberger@sbcglobal.net no later than October 17, 2008. The winner will be announced in November.
